Smart Home

What is a Smart Home? A smart Home simplifies your life, increases comfort, is safer, and will save energy. In a modern car you press a button to roll down the window instead of cranking a handle; a Smart Home does things for you to make life easier in much the same way. For example, you can press one button when you leave to turn off all the lights in the entire house, lock all the doors, and arm the security system.

You can also access and control the home from your phone, and see what is happening when you are away. This answers questions such as: Are my children doing their homework?  What are my pets doing when I am gone?  Did I leave the lights on? You can also unlock doors to let people into the home after you talk to them on your phone through a video doorbell. Certain things can take place automatically during a specific time of the day, or when you walk into a room. Window shades can lower, the lights dim, and the thermostats can adjust to save energy.

Common Smart Home Devices

Many Smart Home Devices work together to create a Smart Home System to meet several categories of needs.

Smart Lighting

Lights turn on at sunset, lights turn off with a single button.  All while saving energy!

Security & Cameras.

Motion detectors, glass break sensors, window & door magnets, and cameras. With a Smart Doorbell such as RING or DoorBird, you can talk to the person at the front door.

Fire and Smoke Alarms.

Monitored carbon monoxide and smoke detectors that can tie into a fire sprinkler system, and call for help functions for medical emergencies and first responders.

Internet.

Is your internet unreliable?  Internet going slow? The culprit could be the modem, router, switch, boosters, or WAP (Wireless Access Point)

SMART LIGHTING

Save power. Save Time.

With wireless and hardwired systems superior to HUE smart light bulbs, motion sensors can turn lights on and off automatically as you enter and leave a room. Or integrate voice control to recall a lighting scene, and illuminate artwork, pathway lighting, or landscape lighting. Color changing bulbs make entertaining around the pool a perfect escape. And add energy savings to the list of attributes as well.

SMART SECURITY

Burglar Alarm & Cameras keep your family safe.

With security monitoring services, an integrated security system allows you to see and control who is entering your home by monitoring doors, windows, motion, and breaking glass. A monitored security system can also call emergency first responders such as the fire department, police, or ambulance in case of medical emergencies.

FIRE AND SMOKE ALARMS

Advanced warning when the heat rises.

Unlike ordinary smoke detectors, monitored smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well as heat detectors alert your system to the possibility of fire and harmful gasses and can be made to trigger other systems to respond automatically, such as alarms and sirens, emergency lighting, fire sprinkler systems, and illuminate a path of safety to exit the building.

The Home Network

Internet that is faster and more reliable.

Fast reliable internet is the result of the signal coming into the home, and the equipment that delivers that equipment to your device. Internet Service Providers (ISP's) have monthly charges for renting equipment which you can eliminate, and high quality components will deliver a better experience.  Increased speeds, more uptime, better signal strength, faster page loading, and reduced video buffering while streaming all result from equipment engineered from the ground up to meet the specific needs of the devices and people within your home.
